Building bit.bio’s digital infrastructure for a modern R&D organisation
[ Thursday September 15, 2022 | now on-demand]
The Paperless Lab Academy® is glad to propose under the Academy Webinar Program umbrella, a presentation from Benchling about the digital transformation project they support at Bit.bio. Bit.bio combines the concepts of coding and biology to provide human cells for research, drug discovery and cell therapy, enabling a new generation of medicines.
OVERVIEW
Presenting: Meritxell Orpinell, Team Lead Professional Services at Benchling
Curious by and about Nature; this is my journey. Fascinated about the mechanisms of life, I started with a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Barcelona, followed by a Masters in Biotechnology and a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at IRBB. My scientific research, conducted across different Research Institutes (IRBB, Forkerparken, IGBMC, EPFL, UniL), had a focus on Cell Cycle and Metabolic Control. When understanding the beauty of nature expanded beyond the bench, it was time to explore new horizons. Moving towards translational research started by small-scale molecular screenings for anti-cancer agents, and culminated at large scale by managing software implementations for Clinical Trials at ERT/Clario. Working to improve Clinicians Practice and Patients' quality of life was equally challenging and rewarding. After 5 years operating in the clinical space, I joined Benchling as Engagement Manager, soon transitioning to my current role as Leader forProfessional Services. At Benchling, I am helping to streamline scientific processes in silico, hence expediting the path from bench to market.
Abstract
Join this webinar to hear, first-hand, how bit.bio is elevating its Discovery, Research & Development teams by creating more efficient, collaborative, and happier teams through digital transformation.
Bit.bio has combined the concepts of coding and biology to build a foundational technology that allows precise engineering of human cells with the consistency, scale, and functionality suitable for drug discovery and medicine.
Benchling’s Meritxell Orpinell, Team Lead, Professional Services will share how the Benchling R&D Cloud helps scientists centralize data, improve collaboration, and access insights to -, ultimately, accelerating time to milestone and market.
She will also host a fireside chat with Furqan Iqbal, Senior Director Information Systems at bit.bio to uncover how digitalization with Benchling has resulted in a scalable IT platform to support and future-proof their workflow, unify distributed teams on one platform, and achieve end-to-end sample management and traceability conforming to regulatory standards.
