Roberto Castelnovo, owner and organiser of the Paperless Lab Academy, shares his thoughts to World Pharma Today about the relevance of the laboratories in these overwhelming times.

Locked down in the surrounding of Milano since beginning of March, he is supporting his customers remotely. He sees the struggles for them to be digitally operative. As discussed multiple time in our congress editions, it is time to invest in transforming the laboratory and quality processes to paperless ones. Now more than ever!

The world just happen to realise that nowadays the laboratories are of crucial importance

The entire world is pending of R&D outcomes for drugs, vaccines, medicine devices… of testing labs for enormous amount of swabs analysis.

People are  now reading about Lab Automation and high-throughput screening, yet the ideal scenario is not in place and in most of the companies basic concepts like moving to Cloud applications are not well understood and even not acceptable.

Remote controlling of the laboratory devices through Internet lab of things is not sci-fi. Remote review of the results and approval processes should not be anymore limited to office computers. Access to documents, editing, reviewing, approval and training should just become a one extra App to click on the smartphone or tablet…

We believe we ought the community to work more on this sense and provide further educational information to speed the becoming digitally operative.
