Integrating devices and systems in QC and Production to enable data driven decisions

Robert Reider Lonza Paperless

Presenter: Robert Reider,Associate Director MODA Implementation  at Lonza

Bob Reider is a subject matter expert on laboratory informatics within quality control for the bio-pharmaceutical industry. Currently, he is an Associate Director, for Lonza Bioscience Informatics, where he is responsible for global software implementations. Bob has worked in QC Lab Systems Support and Laboratory Informatics for over 20 years. Originally he worked for a small LIMS vendor, which was purchased to form Waters Informatics back in 2003. Bob did Presales Support and worked as a solution architect for LIMS, Scientific Data
Management Systems and ENLab Notebooks. In 2008, Bob joined Pfizer as a consultant to deploy a global LIMS and was then designated as the lead to deploy the MODANEM® solution to a select group of aseptic processing sites. After working very closely with the MODA team for years, he joined Lonza in 2011. Since joining Lonza he has focused primarily on QC/Micro activities and worked with numerous quality organizations to improve workflow and implement best practices while executing their MODANEM® projects globally.

Overview

Implement, integrate, validate seamlessly. How to connect devices and systems to derive value
from the data they generate and error proofyour workflows and processes.
Lab instruments and enterprise systems reside in silos to solve a specific needs. Connecting these devices a d systems provide the ability to capture data to make better, more efficient decisions and will error proof the workflow by removing data transcription. The session will discuss the value of interfacing, the technical aspects of having systems exchange data, validation of the interfaces, how data integrity concerns are managed within this process and what process improvements will ultimately be realized.

Why attending

Get useful tips for how you can integrate devices and systems to your enterprise solutions and derive value from the data generated.
During this workshop we will discuss:

  • Technical considerations for interfaces
  • Understanding raw data and determining what data belongs in what system
  • Data Integrity compliance
  • Review by exception
  • Validation

Who should benefit

This session is appropriate for QC and Manufacturing personnel who generate the data, QA personnel who review and release data, system owners and IT Business partners.
